Earn More with GeoSnapShot – The Smart Way to Increase Your Photography Sales!

Affiliate Partnerships

GeoSnapShot is how photographers sell event photos directly to the people in them. This article covers how to earn from the events you shoot, and how to earn from other photographers you bring to the platform.

Would you rather watch than read?

Most of what follows is covered in short videos in Video Help — click the ? icon at the top right of your dashboard, or go to geosnapshot.com/help/videos.

You need an account to watch them, and creating one is free — no subscription, no monthly fee, and no charge to upload photos you intend to sell. If you haven't registered yet, do that first and watch the videos rather than working through this in writing.

Sell photos to participants, with the event organiser's permission

This is the core of it. You agree with the event organiser that you can photograph their event and sell the photos to the participants. Most organisers are happy with this — their participants get photos, and it costs the event nothing.

  • Get the organiser's permission first. We have a separate article on approaching event organisers, with a template email you can send. It is worth reading before you turn up at an event.

  • Create the event and upload your photos. Registering is free, and there is no charge to upload photos you intend to sell.

  • You set the prices. You keep 70% of every sale (after tax and transaction fees), and GeoSnapShot keeps 30%.

  • Get paid when you want. Request a payout at any time from Reports/Payments on your dashboard. There is no minimum. Payments are usually processed within 5 business days, and your first one can take a little longer while we validate your account.

Sell more at the events you shoot

There is a short video for each of these in Video Help, which is quicker than reading if you have not set one up before.

  • Embed the gallery in the event's own website. Participants find their photos where they already are, instead of having to be sent somewhere.

  • Add photo packs, bundles and discounts in the Offers section of your gallery. They appear at the top of the gallery for buyers and they lift the average order.

  • Brand the gallery. Add colours, watermarks or sponsor logos to every photo. Organisers value this, and it gives their sponsors something visible to point at.

  • Promote it. Push the gallery through the event's email list and social channels. Participants share their own photos onward, which brings more buyers to the gallery.

Refer other photographers — earn 5% of their sales

If you bring other photographers to GeoSnapShot, you can earn 5% of everything they sell, whether or not their events have anything to do with you.

  • Your 5% comes out of GeoSnapShot's share, not theirs. The photographers you refer still keep their own 70% of every sale (after tax and transaction fees), exactly as they would without the referral.

  • It is ongoing — you earn on their sales as they keep shooting events.

The referral programme is by invitation. It is built for people who bring a lot of photographers to the platform, rather than the occasional one, so it is not open to every account. If that sounds like you, email [email protected] and tell us roughly how many photographers are in your network and the kind of events they cover. We will take it from there.

Custom branding and managing several events

If an event organiser needs custom branding, or wants to manage the media from several events in one place, it is usually best to set up a separate account for them so the setup can be tailored to what they need.

Email [email protected] with the organisation's name and we will arrange it. This is also what turns a one-off event into an ongoing relationship, with the organiser coming back to GeoSnapShot for everything they run.
