If you are looking for photos from a school event, a sports day or a graduation, here is how to find them and when to expect them.
How GeoSnapShot fits in: we are the photo platform your school uses to share and sell their photos. We don't attend the event or take the pictures — the school arranges the photographer. It is worth knowing, because it explains which questions we can answer and which ones only your school or their photographer can.
First, check how your school shares photos
Schools set this up in one of two ways, and it changes how you find your child. Your school chooses which one they use.
Through your school's parent portal. Your children are already linked to your account, so all the photos of your children at that school appear as soon as you log in. There is nothing to search for.
Through a school photo gallery. Your school shares a gallery link, and you find your child yourself — by browsing, or by using selfie search inside the gallery.
If you are not sure which one your school uses, start with the emails or newsletters they have sent you. A portal login means the first option; a gallery link means the second.
When will the photos be available?
This varies by school and photographer. As a rough guide:
Sports days and school events — 1 to 5 business days after the event
Graduation photos — up to 1 to 2 weeks after the ceremony
Once the gallery is live, you can tell at a glance whether more photos are still coming. If you see the Photos are still being uploaded to this event banner, uploading isn't finished — click Notify me and leave your email address, and we will tell you when every photo is up.
If that banner isn't showing, the gallery is complete and no more photos are coming.
If it has been longer than the guide above and you still can't see the photos, use the Contact Support link on the event page — next to the event date, under the event name — to reach the photographer directly.
If your school uses a parent portal
Log in to your school's parent portal as you normally would and open the photos section. Your children's photos are already matched to your account, so they are there waiting — you do not need to search, and you do not need a selfie.
If a child of yours is missing, or you can see photos for one child but not another, that is a link between your school's records and their photos. Ask your school — they hold the profile photo and the family details that make the match, and only they can correct them.
If your school uses a photo gallery
Your school will normally share a link to the gallery. If you can't find the link:
Search for your school or the event name.
Open the gallery.
Inside the gallery you can browse the photos, or use selfie search to find photos of your child if the school has enabled it. Click Selfie in the left sidebar and upload a clear, recent, front-on photo of them.
The gallery is asking for a password
Some schools keep their galleries private, which is a privacy choice they make for their students.
The school sets the password and decides who receives it. GeoSnapShot does not hold it and cannot give it out. Check the emails or newsletters your school has sent, and if you can't find it, ask the school directly.
You can also use the Contact Support link on the event page to reach the photographer, who can help with access.
You can't find your child in the photos
There is more than one reason for this, so work through them in order.
Check whether the gallery is complete using the upload banner, as above. If uploading is still in progress, more photos are coming.
If you are in a parent portal and a child is missing, ask your school — see above. This is not something a selfie search will fix.
If you used selfie search in a gallery, try a different photo — clear, front-on and recent works best.
Browse the gallery as well. Not every photo can be matched to a face, so your child may appear in photos that selfie search doesn't return.
They may not have been photographed. A photographer at a school event cannot capture every child. If the gallery is complete and you have browsed it, use the Contact Support link on the event page to ask the photographer what was covered.
Buying school photos
Add the photos you want to your cart and check out. Prices are set by your school or their photographer, not by GeoSnapShot.
If your school uses a print provider such as MSP Photography or AdvancedLife, printed photos are delivered to the school or to your home address, as your school has arranged. See our article on print orders for who to contact about a print.
Who to ask
Ask your school about the gallery password, a child missing from your parent portal, and anything to do with which events they arranged photography for.
Use the Contact Support link on the event page — next to the event date, under the event name — to reach the photographer about late photos, gallery access, or what was photographed at the event.
Email [email protected] if the gallery itself isn't working, a download fails, or there is a problem with a payment you made to GeoSnapShot.
