Two things are often mistaken for a login problem. Check those first — the password reset steps follow underneath.
Looking for your photos rather than your account?
You usually don't need to log in to browse an event gallery. If you have the gallery link from the event organiser, open that first.
Some organisers do add a privacy step: a gallery password, covered below, or a selfie upload before any photos are shown. Neither means there is anything wrong with your account.
The gallery is asking for a password
This is not your GeoSnapShot account password, and resetting your account password will not help.
The event organiser sets the gallery password and decides who receives it. GeoSnapShot does not hold it and cannot give it out.
Check the emails the organiser sent you when you registered for the event — the gallery password is usually included with the gallery link. If you can't find it, reply to that email and ask them for it.
Reset your password
If it really is your GeoSnapShot account you can't get into:
Go to geosnapshot.com and open the login page.
Click Forgot Password, below the login form.
Enter your email address and send the reset.
Open the email and click the reset link.
Create your new password.
The reset email hasn't arrived
Check your spam or junk folder — this is the usual cause.
Use the address your account was created with. A reset sent to an address we don't hold won't arrive.
Add [email protected] to your contacts, then request the reset again.
If no email arrives at all, you may have signed up with Google — see the next section.
There is no password to reset — you signed up with Google
If you created your account using the Login with Google button, you never set a GeoSnapShot password. There is nothing to reset, and no reset email will ever arrive. Sign in using that same Google button.
The reset link doesn't work, or has expired
Reset links are single use. If you have requested more than one reset, only the most recent link will work — go back to the newest email and use that one. If it still fails, request a fresh reset and open it straight away.
You're not sure which email you used
Email [email protected] from any address you might have registered with, and tell us the name you would have used. We will find your account for you — you don't need to remember which address it was.
Still stuck
Email [email protected] and we will help you get back into your account.
