I bought a photo pack when I registered — how do I get my photos?

How to claim photos from a pre-paid pack bought through event registration, what to do if verification fails, and why your confirmation number won't work.

Some events sell photo packs as part of their registration — a photo package add-on when you sign up for a race, for example. If you bought one, your photos are waiting in that event's gallery. Here is how to claim them.

How GeoSnapShot fits in: we are the photo platform that sports clubs, schools and event organisers use to share and sell their event photos. We don't attend the event or take the pictures — the organiser arranges that. It is worth knowing, because it explains which questions we can answer and which ones only your event organiser can.

Looking for school or graduation photos? Those work differently — see our article on school and graduation photos.

Claim your photos

This applies when you bought a photo pack as part of registering for an event.

  1. Open the event's photo gallery. The link is usually in your event confirmation email, or on the organiser's event page.

  2. Find the Offers section and the banner that asks "Did you pre-register for a photo pack?"

  3. Click Yes, get my photos!

  4. Enter the email address you used to register for the event, and your last name exactly as it appears on your registration.

Your registration confirmation number won't work here

The confirmation number on your event registration is issued by the event's registration system, not by GeoSnapShot, so we cannot look you up with it. The email address on your registration is what identifies you.

The gallery won't accept your email and last name

If you see a verification failed message, or the gallery tells you your details don't match, work through these in order.

  • Use the exact email address from your registration, even if you no longer use it. It does not have to be the address you are signed in with.

  • Match your last name exactly — no shortened forms, no missing hyphens or accents.

  • Try the other email addresses you use. Many people register with an address they have since forgotten about.

You have paid for these photos and we want you to have them. If none of the above works, contact the event organiser by replying to your registration email. They hold the registration list and can check your order details. GeoSnapShot cannot see your event registration, so the organiser is the fastest way to get it corrected.

The gallery is empty, or you can't find your photos

First, check whether the gallery is still filling up.

If you can see the Photos are still being uploaded to this event banner, uploading is not finished. Click Notify me and leave your email address, and we will tell you as soon as every photo is up.

If that banner is not showing, every photo from the event has already been uploaded. There are no more still to come.

If all the photos are up and you still can't find yourself, the photographer may simply not have captured you — at a large event no photographer gets everybody. As above, we host the gallery but have no part in taking the photos or in deciding what gets covered, so the event organiser is the right person to ask about coverage.

How the check works

The event organiser sends GeoSnapShot the list of people who bought a pack. When you enter your email address and last name, we match them against that list. If what you enter differs from what is on the organiser's list — even slightly — the match will fail. GeoSnapShot cannot edit that list; only the event organiser can.

Who to ask

Ask the event organiser, by replying to your registration email, about anything to do with your registration, what your pack includes, or which photos were taken at the event. They hold the registration list and they arranged the photography.

Email [email protected] if the gallery itself isn't working — a page that won't load, a download that fails, or a problem with a payment you made to GeoSnapShot.
